Mayor, Bob Graham,
is the patron of the Australian Coal Alliance, the community
group resisting coal mining in Wyong Shire.
Councillor Graham’s acceptance of the honorary position with the
Australian Coal Alliance firmly reflects Wyong Council’s opposition
to the mining proposal by the Korean company,
The Mayor has already declared that “no stone would be left unturned
in blocking longwall coal mining in our valleys”.
Council and the Australian Coal Alliance are members of a liaison
group formed to prepare for any formal mining application lodged
with the NSW Government.
ACA spokesman Alan
Hayes said “this is a positive move
that has united the community.”
